Honey House x Respectful Parenting Co ‘Parenting Pep Talks’ Supper Club: Sharing & Consent

  • Lark 114 Montague Street Worthing, England, BN11 3HG United Kingdom (map)

Have you ever been in a situation where sharing became an issue with your child, and you weren’t sure what to do? You want to be a “good” parent, but you also want to be kind to your child—while still teaching them to be kind to others. If so then, this event is for YOU!

In this session, we’ll take a deeper look at sharing—whether it’s between siblings at home, during playdates, or with larger equipment at parks and soft play areas. We’ll explore why forcing children to share isn’t always beneficial and discuss what can be done instead. You’ll learn practical strategies, why they work, and how to apply them in real-life situations. Plus, you’ll have the chance to work through one of your own real life scenarios in a group and discuss different ways to handle it.

Have you ever been in a situation where a family member or friend tried to make your child hug or kiss them? You want your child to be polite, and of course, you want to feel like you're doing a good job raising them to be respectful. But something about the situation didn’t sit right, and you weren’t sure how to handle it.

If that sounds familiar, then this second part of the session is right up your boulevard…

We’ll take a deeper look at empowering your child through consent—exploring the impact of forced affection and how to handle these situations in a way that respects both your child and others. You’ll learn strategies to help your child feel confident in setting boundaries while also understanding how parents can establish their own boundaries in a respectful way. Because respect should always be mutual!

You’ll also have the chance to work in a group to discuss a real-life scenario with other parents, exploring different ways it could be handled.
